As there was a lack of venues & affordable entertainment around Mackay &/or the Whitsundays for disabled Adults, Shara's family acquired the Golf Links Rd facility and Shara's Club was born. What started as a handful of friends hanging out had grown & by 2022 over 100 members were utilising the facility each week. As the capital & operating costs solely funded by the founders, Shara's Foundation Ltd was established in 2022 as a Deductible Gift Recipient-1 (DGR-1) providing taxation free deductions for donations & philanthropic gifts & funding so the club can continue for decades to come
Shara's Club ongoing appeal is to focus on enriching the lives of every member that walks through the doors.
Our Board and Committee is made up of dedicated professionals and volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in our cause & the broader community.
There are many ways to get involved with Shara’s Club, from volunteering your time to making one off or revolving donation. We rely on the support of our community to continue our important work, and we are always looking for new ways to collaborate and make a difference.
